Measurable Learning & Test Items

Unit of Study:  Employment Law
Grade level: N/A (Corporate training)
Learning outcomes:
1-      At the conclusion of the course, participants will be able to distinguish between lawful and unlawful interview questions with 100% accuracy.
2-      At the conclusion of the training, participants will be able to identify up to six labor law violations in a hypothetical employer/employee interaction role play scenario.
3-      After completing the course, participants will be able to identify, with 100% accuracy, reasonable accommodations for an applicant covered by the ADA.
Test items:
1-      Place an “L” in the space next to lawful questions and a “U” in the space next to unlawful questions.

____ Have you ever held a management position?
____ What religious holidays do you observe?
2-      Match each scenario with the federal labor law in which it is related (laws can be matched to more than one scenario.)

  1. Hello Nicole,this is a little different from what I am used to since it is an education situation for adults in a professional setting. Still, clear measurable objectives apply and those finishing this course should be able to achieve the three objectives you identified so clearly. We make course objectives and perhaps Unit objectives and as small as a daily lesson objectives. This gives me another perspective since I am always thinking about children's classes.

    Impressive work! I do believe your students can succeed wtih the focused attention on the identification level of Bloom's Taxonomy. As a consideration, list the vocabulary you are regarding for 100% accuracy. As well, note the integral difference between 90% and 100% accuracy- which is more accepted in a learning environment and should we advance to 100%? I look forward to your thoughts.
